I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, accredited by the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I adhere to their Ethical Framework. I have a private practice based in Enfield EN2 and also offer online and phone sessions. I work with all age groups on a one to one basis, offering talking therapy to suit your needs. I have worked in agency and NHS settings with adults, and in primary and secondary schools with children and young people. I worked at a North London FE college for 10 years with young people and adults, where I was the Lead Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor for the counselling service. I have an advanced Diploma in psychodynamic counselling. This type of therapy tends to look at your past experiences to try and help you gain insight into your current behaviour and relationship patterns. However, I understand that not everyone wants or feels able to explore their past, especially if it is painful and difficult to think about. For that reason I also hold a post qualification certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which allows me to offer short term solutions and strategies to current issues, for example managing anxiety or anger. I will offer you an initial assessment and, together, we can think about what type of therapy would most suit your needs, and what it is that you would like to focus on. This assessment also gives you the opportunity to decide whether you think you would like to work with me. If you decide that you would like to begin counselling with me we will continue to review your focus and goals and, if necessary, amend our approach accordingly. My counselling approach is flexible and I will adapt to your preferred style of working and needs.
